Healing Sounds, LLC is a private practice group of expressive arts therapists operating in and around North Chesterfield, VA. Although the business started in 2009, it began to take development as a full spectrum group practice in 2017 adding art therapy, play therapy and counseling to the already established music therapy program. Healing Sounds provides creative therapeutic experiences to promote wellness, change behavior and improve quality of life for all people age 3 to 104. Our therapists use music therapy, art therapy and play therapy to help community members lower anxiety, improve self-control and connect with support systems. Our team seeks an expressive arts therapist that is excited to lead groups in the community, eager to see clients that crave creative solutions to therapy, and desires the comradery of working with a creative team!

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Counseling, social work, marriage family therapy or expressive therapy field

  • Virginia License in Counseling, Social Work, or similar standing

  • Experience working with people with brain injuries or spinal cord injuries

Preferred Experience:

  • EMDR training or other trauma focused approach

  • Practice includes working with people across the lifespan including younger children

Summary of Responsibilities:

This engaging full-time position is perfect for a therapist that desires to work alongside expressive therapists while building a program that focuses on supporting people of all ages with brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the position will include program development, individual expressive therapy sessions and group therapy based in the expressive arts. The therapist should enjoy being a part of a creative therapy team that supports each other through consultation, creative client processing and after work connection. The applicant must be willing to do in-person sessions at our office and within the community and be willing to be flexible in scheduling to include some late afternoons, evenings or Saturdays. The applicant will be required to participate in a background check, maintain HIPAA compliance, stay up to date with vaccinations, and provide references. 

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of delivering exceptional services to a mixed caseload of individual and group clients.

  • Lead/co-lead groups utilizing an expressive approach to skills.

  • Creatively design goal-oriented session plans using best practices.

  • Maintain stellar documentation through the electronic health records system.

  • Implement technology into sessions and troubleshoot technology issues with clients.

  • Organize and maintain professional schedule. 

  • Ability to understand and incorporate director, supervisor or client feedback. 

  • Accomplish projects as assigned and attain a high level of quality on or before deadlines.

  • Collaborate with team members in program planning, service delivery, and marketing and development as needed.

  • Ability to work with team members to establish best practice yet independent enough to complete tasks on their own.

  • Track hours through our internal system accurately and promptly.

  • Make ethical decisions according to the professional code of ethics and to seek supervision in a respectful and solution focused manner.

Compensation:

  • Full-time clinical salary commensurate with experience based on a 48-week year

  • Choice of the number of clients seen per week spanning 19-27 hours
