Music Therapy

Music therapy is the use of music interventions to reach non-musical goals. Similar to OT, SLP, and PT, after the completion of a formal assessment, a treatment plan with individualized goals is developed alongside the client or family.  Through the use of music therapy techniques, we work on essential skills like socialization, emotional regulation, attention, communication and academics.

Art Therapy

Art Therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship. Art Therapy, facilitated by a professional art therapist, effectively supports personal and relational treatment goals as well as community concerns.

Play Therapy

Play therapy is a specialized approach that utilizes the natural language of children – play – to help them express themselves, process difficulties, and learn positive ways forward. Through various playful activities and interactions within a safe and supportive environment, children are encouraged to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This form of therapy allows them to explore, make sense of their world, and address emotional challenges in a way that feels natural and non-threatening.

Counseling

Counselors pull from a variety of talk therapy techniques while validating, empathizing and supporting the client with goals that may relate to mental health or life situations.

Our therapists utilize approaches and techniques to include behavioral therapies and solution-focused approaches. At times, our counselors will suggest expressive interventions like mindfulness and music, art-based reflections or guided imagery and music. However, the client is always in control of their treatment and can choose whether or not to utilize the arts.

DBT Skills

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skill building groups are for people who would like to cope more effectively with intense emotions, anxiety or depression, and/or relationship struggles. DBT skills are taught to reduce self-destructive behaviors and learn more adaptive ways to manage painful emotions. This group will integrate expressive therapies like music and art for a full mind-body experience. We have weekly classes for pre-teens, teens and adults.

Community Music Therapy

We provide music therapy services for many local hospitals, schools and long-term care facilities. We enjoy bringing therapy to the community to support goal areas such as improving mental and emotional health, creating social connections and improving quality of life. Contact us for information on how we can support your community.

Music Lessons

Our lessons differ from our competitors due to our ability to adapt lessons to fit the unique needs and music preferences of the student. We are able to individualize the lesson to fit the strengths and needs of the student to include using visual aids to reduce frustration, implementing schedules to keep our students on task, and incorporating music games, rhythm instruments, movement and singing, and musical breaks to maximize learning. We believe that everyone should have a successful experience with music lessons and our therapists are committed to helping you learn the best way you can.
